We all get caught in it from time to time, but I am not worried about it. I actually get rather exited when hit with massive rainfall. What I don’t like is how slow other people start driving, and how you always tend to run into the token guy that puts his hazards on.
I turned it into a vlog by talking briefly before and after the events unfolded (well, all of it was recorded after I got home, but such is life when creating a video out of nothing.
I had fun, I was like a child jumping in a puddle of water... Only I was using a 4000lbs car to do it.
I wonder how you like driving in bad weather. I for one love the fact I can watch it all back. Especially lightning strikes!

Looks like Houston. Is that Houston?
Also, what's the car?

I like going under bridges. Because it gets kinda quiet for a sec.

Well the hazards on while driving is pretty useful when visibility is about 10 feet in front of you due to the hurricane force torrent of rain causing everyone to go under 30 mph in a 70mph zone. But yeah, the people that do it just because of a slightly heavy sprinkle of rain comes through just pisses me off haha.
I enjoy the rain though when its light enough that I can keep the top down. Otherwise, screw the rain because putting my top up and the AC on is the incorrect way to drive a Miata.

It was Plano Texas. And the car is a 2007 Grand Marquis LS.

Hahaha! That is truth right there. If it’s a long one you turn off your wipers and come out having to turn them on to the max again!

This was the heaviest I have driven in. Lots of water. But I know what I can and can’t do. Sure you got to slow down. But hazards on? 10mph? PLEASE!
And agreed. Miata = Open. My cousin in Holland has one, and I drove it for a bit. With the top up it is pretty cramped in there. Top open = awesome. It makes me wish my wife never got rid of her GT/CS Vert. Man, that was awesome!

Haha yes, infinite headroom is always much better. I drove a lot in the winter so I got used to some top up driving (a lot of top down in the snow as well though). Any time I get in other cars the first thing I notice is just how much room there is. I never feel like I need more room when I am driving my Miata, it fits like a glove. So now anything bigger feels like excess and wasted space.

I actually told my 4 year old daughter that the Miata is going to be her (and her brother’s) first car. Stick naturally, I want them to pay attention from the get go. And a manual transmission helps with that!

I wish my parents taught me manual, would have made my car buying experience a lot easier lol. Although it is always a fun story to tell people how I learned how to drive on the way home from buying my Miata.

LOL! But it a bit of a curve, that extra pedal. It took me a few lessons to have it down at least.
